WHERE IS THE PROMISE OF HIS COMING?

Dates or Time Periods
Does God Set Dates? You Be The Judge
Does Man Often Misunderstand or Misinterpret His Dates?
Yes, The Unbelievers Do and The Lukewarm Christians Do Also
Does God Sometimes Choose One Person To Bring Forth The Understanding
Of Certain Scriptures and Difficult To Understand Scriptures?
Yes, Daniel Was One, John Was Another, Clarence Larkin Was Another, etc.

Will anyone be able to understand what is being said here? Only those that are humble and have a childlike spirit. Those that have ingrained in themselves doctrines of men or doctrines of their own misguided thoughts, which they are sure are the correct interpretation of Scripture, these will never be able to understand unless they humble themselves.

This latter-day church age is described in the Bible as wretched and miserable. Brother is against brother. Pastor is against pastor. Speaking against each other and condemning each other openly before their own flocks, on television, or radio, or even in crusades is common place. God forbid.
Is this a church age that is walking in the love of God as it ought? No.
Who is the accuser of the brethren? It is the devil.
Among those that claim to follow Jesus, consider this.
Among the various denominations that occupy the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, there is much hatred, feuds and fistfights. Some have even been arrested.
Among Baptists, there are divisions. Among Pentecostals there are divisions. Is Christ divided?
Baptists speak against Pentecostals, and Pentecostals speak against Baptists. Is Christ divided? God forbid.

Many (including born again Christians) have set dates regarding various Biblical events. Though this is unwise, it is not the unforgivable sin. We should not despise prophecy. We are commanded to know the times, to watch and be ready, and to look for the promise of His coming.

Date Setting

Did God set a date for the great flood that was to come because of sin? Yes, it was 120 years.

God set a date for the first coming of Jesus and also talked of His crucifixion. It was 62 weeks of years from a certain event.

Thus, the Bible tells that because of this prediction the people were in expectation, regarding the Messiah coming the first time.
Did God set a date through His prophet? Yes.

Did God set a date for the second coming of Jesus in the clouds at the Rapture? Yes.
It is the fulfillment of the Feast of Trumpets, at midnight Israeli time.

Did God set a time period for the length of the Tribulation? Yes, in several ways.
It is 7 years, or 7 times, or 2 periods of 3 ½ years, or 42 months times 2, or 1260 days times 2.
Scripture also informs us that the first part of the Tribulation would be cut short, but He does not tell us by how much.

Did God set a date for how long His two witnesses are to prophesy during the Tribulation? Yes, for 1260 days.

Did God set a date for when the Battle of Armageddon would explode? Yes.
It is immediately after the Tribulation of those days, not during the Tribulation as some teach these days.

Did God set a time period for how long the Battle of Armageddon would last? Yes, for one day.

Did God set a date when Satan would be cast into the pit? Yes.
It is at the beginning of the Battle of Armageddon.

Did God set a date regarding when the Judgment of the Nations would occur? Yes.
It is soon after the Battle of Armageddon.

Did God set a time period for how long Jesus will reign and rule after His Second Coming? Yes, for 1000 years.

Did God set a date when Satan would be released from the bottomless pit? Yes.
It is immediately after the 1000 years expire.

Did God set a time period for the final rebellion and the heavens and earth passing away? Yes, for a little season.

Did God set a time period when people would be released from hell to go before the Great White Throne Judgment and then to the lake of fire?
Yes. It is after the heavens and earth pass away.

Did God set a time period for how long the unsaved would be punished for their sins and rejection of His love and rejection of His blood that was shed to pay their sin debt in full? Yes.
It is for ever and ever—eternity—time without end.

Did God set a time period for how long those that do trust in Him for their salvation (who deny themselves and repent, and follow Him)—how long these will be with Christ? Yes.
It is for ever and ever—eternity—time without end.

Regarding the Scripture, NO MAN KNOWETH THE DAY AND THE HOUR, what day and hour is He talking about?
Many believe that no one can know when the Rapture will come, or no one can know when the Tribulation will come, or no one can know when Armageddon will come, etc.
Yet that Scripture is an answer to a question that Jesus was asked by His disciple. It was relating to when the heaven and earth would pass away. Only the Father knows the day and hour that this event will happen, which is after the Millennium.

This is only a partial list of dates that God set. To cover all the dates and time periods would take a message far longer than this one.

We can say this of a certainty. We are in the latter days of the last days. (Note: the latter days began with Israel’s rebirth in 1948. The term last days is mentioned 8 times in the Bible. It is generally speaking about the times we are now in, or the Millennium; however, one time the term is used to denote when Jesus came the first time about 2000 years ago. The terms end time or end times is not mentioned in the Bible, but are used by some to denote the time period we are now in. As a result of the rebirth of Israel and the over 300 signs that have now been fulfilled, there is no doubt that the Rapture of the church is very, very soon. There is no question that it will come on the Feast of Trumpets. However, the precise year is not yet known.)

Did anyone try to set a date regarding the return of Christ in the Bible? Yes, about 1900 years ago, and they were born again Christians also. Was it the unforgivable sin? No.

Jn 21:21-23-Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou Me. Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? So many believed Jesus would return before John would die.

If the Rapture comes this year, will you be ready?
